Under no circumstances will we record any information whatsoever relating to a past criminal offense, alleged or otherwise, in any jurisdiction. Audio, visual and written records of any such act will always be securely deleted.

Right of Access

You have the right to access any data that Qisetna has collected over the course of an interview. We will, on request, provide you with a copy of all personal data, and all analysis of that data conducted by us, within a month of the request whether given in writing or orally.

Qisetna: Talking Syria will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of your data and other personal information.

The Archiving Exemption

Qisetna: Talking Syria is an archive of Syrian people’s experiences. We aim to operate in the public interest and on a case-by-case basis, we may rely on your data being exempt from the your right to rectify or alter it.

Our website is archived by the British Library on a rolling basis, and while we will always comply with a request to delete or alter your data in a timely manner, once it is archived this cannot be guaranteed. We will always seek your permission to have the data archived in this manner.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us.
